VAHCC/Richmond Legal Clinic

Website:

https://www.vahcc.com/page/RichmondLegalClinic

Services:

The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce offers a legal clinic (focusing on immigration law) once a month. Interested clients would need to call ahead of time to schedule an appointment. It entails a $35 consultation, and if the reviewer feels that it is the type of case they can accept they would then connect the client with an attorney in the Richmond area who would offer services at a reduced rate (or in some cases it is pro bono).

Requirements to get aid:

The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation offers two legal clinics: one on civil law and the other on immigration law. The upcoming dates for each clinic are listed below. The clinic is for issues such as unpaid wages, landlord-tenant disputes and other civil contract disputes. The law firms that staff the civil clinic may not be able to accept every case due to conflict issues or case specifics NOTE: The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce does not provide legal services. The Chamber only acts to connect members of the community with attorneys who are willing to provide pro bono legal assistance. Because of the limited resources available at the immigration clinic, pro bono representation will only be offered in cases of immediate legal need or financial difficulty.
